Hey, I’m Jess!
I am an aspiring communicator and creative strategist in the arts, culture, and nonprofit sectors. My public relations background started in museums (my favorite places on earth).
My passion for cultural storytelling began long before I ever knew what public relations was. At four years old, I stepped into my first Polish dance class. My years of Polish dancing were steeped in bright floral fabrics, swirling skirts, and accordion melodies; they quickly became the backdrop of my childhood. What started as a family tradition evolved into a way of seeing the world: with curiosity, reverence, and a deep appreciation for the traditions that shape us.
That connection to heritage has always fueled my creativity. My fascination with regional dance costumes sparked an early interest in fashion, design, and artistry. Over time, that same curiosity expanded into a love for communication, specifically, understanding how culture is shared, preserved, and reimagined through storytelling and community engagement.
Today, that lens guides my approach to public relations. I’m drawn to work that bridges art, culture, and human experience; work that feels intentional, honest, and rooted in connection. Whether I’m writing, designing content, or helping shape the voice of an institution, I aim to communicate in a way that radiates accessibility and cultural sensitivity.
About Me...
Anything Else?
Outside of the professional world, I’m happiest when I’m making something with my hands: arts and crafts, cooking (my crock pot is my pride and joy), or baking.
I volunteer at DePaul’s soup kitchen, which keeps me grounded and connected to my community.
I love going to concerts, discovering new music, and rotating through my playlists, which typically include Joni Mitchell, Dijon, Liz Phair, and Lady Gaga.
My passion for writing extends beyond my career. In my free time, I will jot my thoughts down about art, feelings, and the small moments that make up a life.
Lastly, I would love to say that I enjoy watching football with my friends on the weekends as a leisurely activity, except, I was born and raised a Detroit Lions fan. Enjoyable, but never leisurely.
